Our Purpose and Mission
Local beach group
Friends of Birdrock Beach is a community-based environmental group dedicated to preserving and protecting Birdrock Beach and its surrounding ecosystems. Active since 2017, we’ve led beach cleanups, coastal conservation projects, native flora and fauna monitoring, bird counts, and educational beach explore days.
Unfortunately, due to the closure of the beach access stairs—now in disrepair and closed for over two years—our on-site activities have been paused. Despite this, we continue to advocate strongly for the reopening of safe access to the beach and have lobbied our local council throughout this time.
Once access is restored, we look forward to resuming our hands-on environmental activities and welcoming the community back to this precious coastal reserve.
